Medford Doctor Recognized for Leadership in Medical Community
Dr. Martin Fraser, of Medford, was recently elected a fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.

Dr. Martin Fraser, the Chief Medical Physicist at Mount Auburn Hospital, was recently elected a fellow of the American Association of Physicists (AAPM) in Medicine.
Fraser, a resident of Medford, was presented with an award at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine back in July. The award recognized his leadership, research and education in the medical physics community.

The category of fellow is meant to honor those who have made significant contributions in one or more of the following areas:
- Service to the AAPM
- The advancement of medical physics knowledge based upon independent original research or development
- Medical physics educational activities, especially in regard to the education and training of medical physicists, medical students, medical residents and allied health personnel
- Leadership in the practice of medical physics
Fraser has served as a senior medical physicist for over 35 years, on a community and national level. He’s logged years of voluntary work as well.

Fraser has also done work through the American College of Radiation and is currently a member of the Massachusetts chapter’s board of executives.
