Medford Grant Will Help Finish Clippership Connector

The multi-use path will connect Medford Square and Riverbend Park.

MEDFORD, MA – The city of Medford this month was awarded a $100,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation, an area organization that selects 100 non-profits or municipalities annually for its "100K for 100" program.

The grant will allow the Department of Conservation and Recreation to complete construction of the Clippership Connector on DCR-owned land and city-owned land between Medford Square and Riverbend Park. As the DCR cannot spend state money on city-owned land, the connection may be completed using the grant.

The Clippership Connector is a multi-use path that will link Medford Square and Riverbend Park as part of a larger network of trails and parks that will span 10 miles along the Mystic River.
