SOMERVILLE, MA – A Medford man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly exposing himself to the horror of a nearby woman.

Rasius Pierre, 47, was charged with open and gross lewdness. Police were called to the area of Woody's Liquors on Broadway around 10 a.m. on Sunday for a report of an indecent exposure.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to a bystander who pointed out a witness and suspect across the street at an MBTA bus stop. The suspect, identified as Pierre, was detained while police spoke to the witness.

The witness, a woman who was "slightly out of breath and visibly upset," had difficulty explaining exactly what happened because she appeared embarrassed to use the words to describe it, according to police. Police eventually determined she was describing a lewd act.

She told police she was walking east on Broadway in front of Trum Field when she saw the man allegedly standing in front of a silver car committing a lewd act. She was shocked not only for herself, but for the kids playing baseball nearby. She shouted that she would call the police, and Pierre allegedly slowly walked to the bus stop across the street.
