Medford Man Evacuated From California Wildfires
A resident working in California is among those displaced by the fires, which have killed 31 people and destroyed 6,800 structures.

MEDFORD, MA – A Medford man who has been working in California for the past two months was among those evacuated from deadly wildfires that have raged across the state, according to the Boston Globe. Runeko Lovell was living in a home owned by the family of a girl he home-schools in Malibu when the family's nanny told him he'd have to evacuate.
The 34-year-old has since been living at a hotel near the Los Angeles airport. He told the Globe he knows how to "deal with a snow storm" being from the East Coast but wishes he was more prepared for the fires.
Thirty-one people have died and 6,800 structures have been destroyed since the fires erupted Thursday. There was no sign of relief Sunday as more than 8,000 firefighters worked to contain the blazes, fighting against erratic winds and low humidity.
