Medford Police Warn of Recent Phone Scam

Medford Police are warning residents of a recent phone scam, which has been reported numerous times.

In the scam, callers have been impersonating Medford Police officers and telling residents that they owe money in attempts to get personal information, police said. The call even appears to come from the department’s number on caller ID, as the scammers are using a computer program to change the number.

Medford Police reminds residents never to give out their personal information over the phone. The department does not collect money or funds for any entity or government agency, or ask for personal information, over the phone.
