Medford Schools Start Date, No-School Dates

Here's when Medford schools welcome back students, along with some other dates of importance and tips for parents.

Parents, you've almost survived the summer.

Students are due back in Medford schools on Tues., Aug. 30 across all grades except kindergarten, which begins Wed., Sept. 7. The return is immediately followed by another break, with no school Fri., Sept. 2 or Mon., Sept. 5 (Labor Day).

“This new schedule is a result of the recently negotiated teachers’ contract and approved by the Medford School Committee," said Superintendent Roy Belson. "I believe Medford was one of a few public school districts left in the Commonwealth that did not start school until after Labor Day. We are getting the word out now, so that all families are aware and can plan summer vacations accordingly."
