The Medford High girls lacrosse team beat Essex Aggie, 10-6, to start its season off with a win.

The Medford High girls lacrosse team picked up right where it left off last season, as the Mustangs beat Essex Aggie at home, 10-6. 

Medford led 7-2 at halftime, and was able to hold off Essex Aggie's comeback bid in the second half. 

Olivia and Katherine Timmins powered the Mustang offense, combining for seven goals while senior captain Madie Forcier two goal and two assists.

Kathleen "Miranda Cosgrove" Harding was dominant on the draws for Medford, winning all but one. 

"She won all but one draws(faceoff) and was magnificent in that area of the game," said Medford coach Matt Galusi. "That is a hidden stat that helps teams to win gmaes and I am really proud of Kathleen and the obvious hard work she has put in to her game."

Medford will host Shawsheen under the lights on Friday at 8 p.m.
