Just about everyone has a favorite summer spot. For Randall Kromm, a singer-songwriter from Winchester, his family’s bucolic summer home in the small, rural town of Belvidere, Vt., holds a very special place in his heart. So much so that he has dedicated an entire CD to the house and its rustic surroundings.
Kromm (www.randallkromm.com) will celebrate the release of his new album, This Old House, with a CD release show at Club Passim on Wednesday, June 4 at 8 p.m.

Kromm will be backed by his singing daughters, Emma and Grace, as well as Eric Kilburn on mandolin and bassist Peter Tillotson.
This Old House contains 11 songs that cover a wide range of acoustic styles, including traditional bluegrass and roots music as well as classic singer-songwriter balladry.

“The house was owned by my wife’s grandparents, who created a gathering place that would draw family together through the generations,” says Kromm, an accomplished guitarist with a pleasing, mellow voice. “Since then, I have been inspired again and again to write songs about the house, its beautiful surroundings, the local community, and the joys of family and summertime.”
