Rash Of Home Break-Ins Hits Medford
Police said the victims were home but did not realize items like jewelry, cash and purses were being stolen.

MEDFORD, MA – Police are warning residents of a recent uptick in house break-ins across the city. The thefts have mainly occurred between 8 and 10 p.m., and most of the victims have been elderly, police said.
Police believe whoever is responsible entered the homes through an unlocked back door. The victims were home at the time but did not realize a break-in happened until they found items missing. Purses, cash and jewelry were stolen, according to police.
Residents are advised to lock their doors and any other possibly entry points, like windows, even when they are home. Those with elderly relatives living alone are asked to alert them as well.
