MEDFORD, MA — Move-in day, like 40-degree highs, are a distant memory, but that didn't stop a "Storrowing" in Medford right at the buzzer of 2019. The Medford Fire Department said the truck was being towed on I-93 North when it struck the overpass at Roosevelt Circle.

For the uninitiated, "Storrowed" is the Boston term for when a too-tall truck tries to make it under a low bridge – usually on Storrow Drive – and gets stuck underneath, often ripping off the top of the truck and/or creating a backup on the roadway. In some cases, trucks have been known to flip or roll over.

Such happenings are synonymous with Boston's Sept. 1 move-in date, as folks from out of town drive around the city, leading to a marked rise in "Storrowings."
