Report: Papa John's Driver Tries to Run Down Pedestrian in Inman Square

The pizza parlor employee then accused police officers of being racist, according to a police report.

An employee of Papa John's Pizza, driving a car with a Papa John's sign on it, tried to run down a pedestrian outside Parlor Sports Bar in Inman Square, according to allegations in a police report.

The victim told police he had parked on Beacon Street across from Parlor Sports and was crossing the street in the crosswalk when Junior Dornevil, 23, of 246 Middlesex Ave., Medford, stopped his green Honda Civic, got out, chest bumped, pushed and spat on the victim, according to the report.

Dornevil then got back into his Civic and "gunned the car" toward the victim, only to be stopped by the curb, the report says.

According to that report, Dornevil shouted obscenities at officers and accused them of being racist, saying, "I ain't talking to them white cops."

As police tried to calm him down he allegedly stared down a customer at the restaurant and said, "What the [expletive] are you looking at this ain't none of your business."

Officers put him in handcuffs, and the victim and witness both positively identified him, the report says.

He was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and disorderly conduct.
