The dog that ran away from Medford firefighters after they rescued him from a house fire on Highland Avenue Sunday, Oct. 26, is back home.
A neighbor spotted Monty, a 6-year-old shepherd mix, behind a shed at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, and his owner was able to coax him out with some treats.

Monty lost some weight over the two weeks but seems to be just fine.
Monty was one of three area dogs reunited with his owner this weekend. On Saturday, a golden retriever named Sundae returned home in Brockton, and a dog found in Malden was brought back home.
