The Somerville man killed in a bicycle crash on Route 16 in Medford on Friday, Sept. 5, was a fourth year medical student at Tufts University, according to the university.
Mohamed ‘Moe’ Zeidan, 29, received his bachelor’s at Amherst College, where he was a “standout student, an All-American soccer goalie and president of the student body,” said Amy Kuhlik, dean of students at the Tufts University School of Medicine.

According to Tufts, Zeidan grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and worked as a research assistant in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital between his undergraduate and medical studies.
“Moe would have been a phenomenal doctor,” his supervisor, Assistant Professor Laura Snydman said. “Moe had an unusual ability to connect with people in a way that didn’t feel forced. He was hardworking, inquisitive and humble. He quickly became universally loved by everyone he met here at the medical center—nurses, house staff, attending physicians and patients alike.”
