The month of May will see three artists new to the Cutter in a unique fiber art show. The common thread is fiber, but each artist approaches textile and found objects in a fresh way and the results are spectacular. Each has shown work at multiple galleries and shows, but this is their first collaboration.

Kendra J. Dowd, of Blue-Eyed Crow Studio is an award winning, self-taught textile/mixed media artist. Frugal and sentimental, and an eagle-eyed scavenger, Kendra tells stories through her combinations of fabric and found objects in creating her assemblages.
Kendra's works have been exhibited most recently at the Medford Historical Society in Medford, The Beebe Estate in Melrose, the Narrows center for the Arts in Fall River, the Old Schwamb Mill in Arlington, the Nave Gallery and Annex in Somerville and Arlington Open Studios. Kendra is a member of the Rising Star Quilt Guild and exhibits in their show in Lexington every October.
Sandra Golbert works mainly in silk and hand made paper, although she often delves into collage and assemblage. She focuses on color and dimensionality, spiced with a bit if whimsy. For "Threads by Three", Sandra is exhibiting a potpourri of her artwork, including "Silent Chimes", hand made paper pieces, and art filled boxes. Visitors are invited to take one of her Art Matchboxes as a momento of this show.
Sandra's work can be seen at many galleries around the country. Her "Papiro" is in the permanent collection of the Zimmerli
