UPDATE: One Arrest, One Summons For Wellington Incident

Suspects reportedly arrested in Medford after a report for an assault at Wellington Station.

UPDATE, 9:45 a.m.: MBTA Deputy Press Secretary Kelly Smith said Transit Police were dispatched to Wellington at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday for "a disturbance involving two individuals engaged in a fight where there was punching and kicking."

Smith said one suspect was arrested on scene and the other fled, however Smith said his identity has been learned and "he will be summonsed to court." 

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people were reportedly arrested following an alleged assault at Wellington Station in Medford early Wednesday morning, according to emergency broadcast reports.

MBTA Transit Police, Medford Police and State Police initially responded to the Orange Line station on Revere Beach Parkway at 12:33 a.m. as a result a reported assault that took place on the Orange Line, according to reports. Suspects had fled in the direction of the State Police barracks.

A short time later, Transit Police reported having one individual in custody. Then, State Police reported having a second suspect in custody at the Stop & Shop on Route 16 in Medford.
