A Medford Police sergeant is on administrative leave after he was caught on a dashboard camera thratening to “put a hole” through a driver’s head, boston.com reports.
Detective Stephen Lebert, who has reportedly been on the department for 30 years, on Sunday pulled over a driver who later told the website he got lost and ended up driving the wrong way at a traffic circle. Lebert, wearing shorts and a white tank top and not driving a police cruiser, is shown on the video aggressively approaching the driver, who was recording the incident on his dashboard camera.
The driver, identified only as “Mike” from Malden — he said he was uncomfortable giving his last name — said he was scared when a man he didn’t know was an officer approached him, so he at first put the car in reverse and tried to get away.

“Where I’m from — I grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts — it’s a rough area,” Mike said. ”When someone says they got a gun, they usually got a gun. So I’m like, ‘Oh, my god. I’ve gotta get the hell outta here.’”
Mike informed Lebert he was recording the encounter on the dashboard camera he said he bought to protect himself after a previous accident. Lebert is heard on video threatening to seize the camera, “put a hole right through your f---ing head,” and saying “You’re lucky I’m a f---ing cop. Cause I’d be beating the f---ing piss outta you right now.”
