Melrose Man Arrested after Exposing Himself at Malden Center

The man also allegedly shattered a glass window to the MBTA inspector's booth on the Orange Line train.

MELROSE, MA - A man who allegedly exposed himself on the MBTA and shattered an inspector’s booth window was arraigned Monday in Malden District Court.

Transit police arrested 32-year-old Daniel Steele of Melrose Saturday on an Orange Line train at Malden Center. Witnesses informed police that Steele had shattered the glass window of an MBTA inspector’s booth and fully exposed his genitals to everyone within view.

MBTA Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan told Patch that there was no indication of any injuries.

Police responded to Malden Center at 10:55 p.m. Saturday after reports of a man refusing to leave the train and causing damage within. Officers entered the train and removed Steele after observing erratic behavior.

Steele was arraigned on charges of malicious destruction of property over $250, as well as open and gross lewdness on Monday in Malden District Court.
