MILFORD, MA- A car accident on Congress Street on Wednesday took out a utility pole and sent the driver to the hospital.
A 101-year-old Milford man was driving along Congress Street on Wednesday night when he lost control of the car and drove off the road into a utility pole. The pole was completely wiped out according to the police log, but the car continued a few feet up the street where it hit a parked car.
The force from the hit pushed the parked car onto the sidewalk.

The elderly driver suffered a head injury, with face lacerations and his head cracked open, according to the police log. He had to be taken out of the car by rescue crews and driven to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
Both cars were severely damaged and towed away. The utility pole blocked Congress street for some time until National Grid crews arrived.

Police said the man was properly licensed and no charges were filed.
