Newton Girl Scouts Raise Some Cookie Dough for Their Troop

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is proud to announce that Newton Girl Scouts Tianna Liu, Amanda Miller, Joslin Pettingell and Abigail Blay sold 500 boxes, Allie Switalski sold 546 boxes, Madeline Ranalli seld 602 boxes and Kayla Torres sold 750 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year. The Girl Scout Cookie program allows girls to set goals, learn money management, and develop marketing skills. The activity of selling cookies is directly related to the organization’s purpose of helping all Girl Scouts realize their full potential and become strong, confident and resourceful citizens.  Girl Scout troops use funds from the cookie activity to fund a service project or to plan for an exciting trip. With the money they earned selling cookies, the girls plan to take field trips with their troops and attend Girl Scout summer camp.
