Technology Fair Will Open Doors for People with Vision Loss

Discover life-changing products and assistive devices that can make an immediate impact on your life at the annual Technology Fair.

(NEWTON, Mass. – November 7, 2019) The Carroll Center for the Blind announced today that it will be hosting the annual Technology Fair at its Newton campus on November 26, 2019. This free event provides the general public with an opportunity to explore and try out the latest access and assistive technology products for individuals who are blind or low vision.

If you are blind or have low vision, assistive technology can have the power to change your life with solutions that make activities of daily living easier—getting or keeping you independent. As the market continues to innovate and open doors for people with vision loss, it’s become more important than ever to understand your specific needs and find the right devices to meet them. The annual Technology Fair brings together dozens of vendors, exhibitors and creators—all under one roof—to provide you with an up-close look at a variety of assistive technology devices and give you an opportunity to learn about services available for those with vision loss.

“There are so many specialized products that can keep people with vision loss independent,” says Dina Rosenbaum, Chief Program Officer at the Carroll Center for the Blind. “The annual Technology Fair is the only place to see the latest devices and hear about the newest applications. There are many vendors and professionals to help you explore what might work for you.”
