Kennedy, who represents the 4th District of Massachusetts, discussed the death of Raekwon Brown in a speech on gun violence.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Joseph Kennedy III was one of eight Massachusetts Democrats who engaged in a sit-in Wednesday on Capitol Hill, refusing to leave the floor until Republicans vote on gun control measures.

Kennedy addressed the House shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, invoking the recent death of teenager Raekwon Brown.

Brown was shot and killed earlier this month outside of his high school in Dorchester. In his remarks, Kennedy cautioned against turning Brown and other victims of gun violence into "just another statistic."
