Community Update

Norwood-based Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of Massachusetts (HPCFM), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing and promoting excellence in end-of-life care throughout the state, announces the appointment of three new members and the re-election of one member to its Board of Directors. All officers will serve a three-year term.

New members to HPCFM’s Board of Directors include Toni L. Eaton, Jay M. Elias and Steven D. Geoffroy. In addition, Diane M. Bergeron has been re-elected to the Board.

Toni L. Eaton, RN, BSN, MS, is the CEO & President of Old Colony Hospice in Randolph. A registered nurse, she also spent nine years as a First Lieutenant in the Army Reserve Nursing Corps. Eaton has more than 25 years of health care experience and lives in Randolph.

An attorney specializing in health care law, Jay M. Elias is currently President of the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., and also serves as General Counsel & Managing Partner of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC, both located in North Attleboro. A graduate of Western New England College School of Law, he maintains more than 25 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including as a former senior partner in the firms of Tate & Elias, LLC and Ratcliffe Burke Harten & Elias, LLP.

Steven D. Geoffroy, RPh, is the President and CEO of Lowell-based Long-Term Pharmacy Solutions, Inc., which he founded in 2002. A resident of Dracut, he has over three decades of experience as a registered pharmacist. Geoffroy is also Vice-President of the LifeLinks Board of Directors and Past President and Chairman of the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association’s Board of Directors. He is also the 2006 recipient of VNA of Boston’s “Hero of Hospice” award.

Diane M. Bergeron, BSN, MSM, CAHA, is the Executive Director of VNA Hospice Care in Woburn, a program of VNA of Boston & Affiliates. A resident of Middleton, she has more than 35 years of progressively responsible health care experience. She has been involved with the HPCFM Board since 1998, and most recently served as Board President from 2004 until 2011.

According to HPCFM’s Executive Director, Christine McMichael, “HPCFM is thrilled to welcome these members to its Board of Directors, who bring with them fresh ideas and unique perspectives. I am confident their service will bring tremendous value to the HPCFM Board of Directors and to the organization as a whole.”
