Stabbing Reported at Salem State University

A stabbing was reported in the area of 358 Lafayette Street in Salem around 5 p.m. The reported address is Meier Hall at Salem State University. According to reports, one person was stabbed in the head multiple times. One person was reportedly in custody and that suspect was taken by ambulance to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

Massachusetts Men Sent to Prison on Child Sex Charges

Two Massachusetts men will spend time in prison after pleading guilty to child sex charges in separate cases. In the first case, a Brockton man pleaded guilty to raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 12 to 13 years in state prison and five years probation. In New Hampshire, a Tewksbury man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for transporting a minor in interstate commerce for illegal sexual activity.

Another Virgin Mary Statue Decapitated at Area Catholic Church

One day after statues at a Burlington Catholic church were vandalized, vandals struck a church in neighboring Billerica. In both instances, Virgin Mary statues were decapitated and had their hands severed.

Boston Salad distribution manager Damian Zofchak told Patch that a turkey crashed through the passenger side windshield of a vehicle while his delivery driver Pedro Dunbar was driving on I-93 South on his way to Woburn in Andover. The turkey died as a result of the crash.

Former Stoneham Priest's Alleged Victim Apart of Boston Archdiocese Settlement

The Archdiocese of Boston has settled for several hundred thousand dollars and counseling services for seven people who said they were sexually abused by priests, one of whom alleged sexual abuse from a former Stoneham priest, according to multiple reports. A victim of the now-defrocked Rev. Richard Coughlin reached a settlement with the Archdiocese, who served in both Stoneham and Lynn from 1953 to 1965.
