The Norwood Theater Really Doesn't Care for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

Due to the suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is not welcomed at the Norwood Theater.

If by some chance NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell finds himself in Norwood this weekend, there is at least one place in town that will not welcome him.

In response to the recent suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for his alleged role in Deflategate, the local theater has placed on their marquee, “All welcome except Roger Goodell.” The message is under an advertisement for this weekend’s show, an Elvis tribute show from performer Chris MacDonald.

According to theater owner Susan Lewis, her son came up with the idea to place their feelings towards the commissioner on the marquee. So far, the reaction online has been positive, with people stopping and taking photos during the day.

The protest sign has been one of many angry gestures aimed at the league in the wake of Brady’s suspension. A GoFundMe page has appeared in an effort to help pay the fine levied towards the Patriots quarterback. Other fans have used the hashtag #NoBradyNoBanner on Twitter to suggest that the banner ceremony for the team’s Super Bowl win not take place unless Brady is on the field.
