Plymouth Police Officer On Paid Leave Now Accused Of Sexual Abuse: Reports
The officer's husband also was accused of sexual abuse, according to reports.
PLYMOUTH, MA — A Plymouth police officer placed on paid leave has now been accused of sexual abuse, according to reports.
"A Massachusetts cop who was mysteriously placed on leave earlier this month has been accused of years-long sexual and physical abuse of a minor whom she and her husband were caring for, according to bombshell court documents," the New York Post reported.

"Samantha Pelrine, 31, was placed on paid administrative leave March 17 due to a criminal investigation into her off-duty conduct," a Boston.com story said. "An abuse prevention order filed that same day in Plymouth District Court revealed that she was accused of sexual abuse."
US Weekly noted Perline and her husband, Daniel Forland, 37, met their accuser through their accuser’s aunt, "who goes to the same church as the couple," then took the 12-year-old child in and became their legal guardian.

"The couple has since been barred from contacting or abusing the accuser, and they have also been ordered to stay 100 yards away from them," per US Weekly.
Citing court filings, WCVB reported Perline and Forland are to have no contact with their accuser, and are to surrender firearms and Firearms Identification cards.

"'They are looking for me, and I am scared for my safety,' the victim wrote in the affidavit," according to WCVB.

In a post on the Plymouth Police Department Facebook page, Perline said she was "born and raised in America's Hometown" of Plymouth and that, throughout her childhood, told anyone who asked that she want to grow up to be a police officer.
"I believe I picked the right career for my personality and what I wanted from a job because while the range of emotions from this job can vary drastically, I know that in some instances I’m truly able to make a difference in someone’s life," Perline said in the post.
