Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Shrewsbury Street Identified
Police have named the person who was killed this week when an alleged drunk driver hit him when he tried to cross the street.

WORCESTER, MA — The man who was struck and killed this week in Worcester while trying to cross Shrewsbury Street after has been identified as 70-year-old Theophilos Raptis.
A woman is facing drunk driving and vehicle homicide charges after a Raptis was hit and killed as he tried to cross the area of 270 Shrewsbury St. on Wednesday night.
Rebecca Brooks, 37, 24 Laurel Lane, Whitinsville, was charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of alcohol, and negligent motor vehicle operation.

Brooks was driving down the street, near Steward Street, when she hit Raptis. He succumbed to his injuries a short time later at the hospital.
The WPD Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.
