Boat Sinks At Winter Hill Yacht Club In Somerville
Emergency crews worked to contain fluids and items from the boat that were leaking into the Mystic River Wednesday.
SOMERVILLE, MA – A motor boat docked at the Winter Hill Yacht Club sank into the Mystic River Wednesday morning, the Somerville Fire Department said. Emergency crews responded to the club around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday and found the boat at one of the docks.
Firefighters put booms in the river to contain leaking fluids and collected items that had floated out of the boat, according to the department.
The Coast Guard, Department of Conservation and Recreation and Department of Environmental Protection assisted with the cleanup effort.
