Elm Street Taproom Opens In Former Joshua Tree Space

A new bar and restaurant, with a selection of 64 beers, moved into the longtime home of Joshua Tree in Davis Square.

SOMERVILLE, MA – It didn't take long for a new bar to move into Davis Square following the closure of longtime watering hole Joshua Tree. Elm Street Taproom was first announced on Elm Street (where else?) shortly after the 20-year-old bar's closure last June, and now it's officially open.

According to Boston.com, the bar and restaurant has 40 draft beers and 24 bottles. Some of them are local, some domestic and others global. And if you drink them all, you'll join the taproom's mug club with a 22-ounce mug of your own that hangs over the bar.

The food menu is designed for sharing and includes snacks, shares and sandwiches, Boston.com reported. The space has seating for 122 people and is open for lunch and dinner, with the possibility of brunch in the future.
