Mr. Shabecoff, a nationally renowned journalist, was the chief environmental correspondent for The New York Times. He has appeared on CNN, C-span, Meet the Press, and Face the Nation. Mrs. Shabecoff, a free-lance journalist who focuses on family and consumer issues, was the Executive director of the National Consumers League and of the National Community Information Exchange.

The Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project is a nonprofit, nonpartisan group that studies the relationship between cancer and the environment with the goal of reducing health risk factors for residents of Wellesley and surrounding communities.
