Jaju Pierogi Coming To Somerville

The Gloucester-based Polish dumpling business will open at the upcoming Bow Market.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Gloucester-based pierogi pop-up will have a permanent storefront at the upcoming Bow Market in Union Square, according to Scout Somerville. Jaju Pierogi, run by sisters Casey and Vanessa White, has served handmade pierogi at area restaurants and farmers markets since 2015.

The location at Bow Market will be Jaju Pierogi's first storefront. In addition to selling pierogi to eat in-store or on the go, the shop will also offer frozen packages to cook at home, Scout reported.

Pierogi are dumplings of Central and Eastern European origin with fillings ranging from potato, ground meat and sauerkraut, to cheese and fruit. Jaju Pierogi's menu consists of flavors such as cabbage and mushroom, sweet potato, butternut squash, apple and sage, kielbasa, potato and cheese and prune and goat cheese.

Jaju will continue to pop up in the area and has scheduled appearances this month at Far From The Tree in Salem, Gentile Brewing, Dorchester Brewing, Tree House Brewing, the Berkshire Fermentation Festival and Lamplighter Brewing. The sisters will use their facility in Gloucester for food preparation, Vanessa White told Scout.
