On Wednesday June 24th, Nubia Williams, Parsons the New School for Design graduate and emerging fashion designer launched a Kickstarter. The funds raised are going towards the production of the debut fashion show/launch of the Nubia Williams Design Fall/Winter 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection at Boston Fashion Week. In-order for the project to be funded, she must reach at least $1,800 by noon on Friday, July 24th.
The concept of the collection is based on the restricted and fading culture of Ancient Nubia which will soon be an underwater Atlantis. You can expect exoticism, rich color, architectural shapes, and conceptual treatments.

The Nubia Williams mission is to design garments that work for the woman, not make the woman work for the clothes. The Ready-to-Wear pieces planned to go into production are the garments that offer adjustability, ease, silhouettes and structure that will work with those common problem areas women have(armpit fat, large arms, larger backsides, growing waistlines, etc.). Nubia understands most women aren’t models and shouldn’t be limited to clothes that were designed solely for models.
Here are the components of producing this fashion show:
