Somerville Man Dies Climbing Mt. Washington

The 37-year-old researcher at Boston Children's Hospital has been identified as the person found on Mt. Washington earlier this month.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville man has been identified as the person found dead on Mt. Washington earlier this month. Jeremy Ullmann died Feb. 10 at the age of 37.

He was found by U.S. Forest Service snow rangers responding to a report of an overdue climber, WCVB reported. Ullmann had planned to climb Central Gulley, a climb of moderate difficulty.

Ullmann worked at Boston Children's Hospital as a researcher of the genetic causes of childhood epilepsy, according to his obituary.

In a statement to WCVB, the hospital described Ullmann as "accomplished and beloved." He is survived by a wife and 3-year-old son.
