Somerville Man Stabbed Man, Fled Scene, Caught: Police

ARLINGTON, MA — A Somerville man is facing assault charges after a fight in Arlington, police said. Officers responded to a reported fight in a building on Old Colony Lane at 10:34 p.m. Monday. Upon entering the building they found two men, one of whom said he had been stabbed.

The other man, later identified as 35-year-old Frank Laporta, of Somerville, fled the scene, according to police. He was apprehended down the street.

Laporta was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon (knife, baton) and one count each of resisting arrest and possession of a Class E substance.
