Authorities said the 34-year-old tried to take an officer's weapon outside a Boston courthouse last year.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A Somerville man was sentenced Friday in federal court for assaulting federal officers, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. Jessi Tombari, 34, pleaded guilty in November to assaulting two officers outside a Boston courthouse last year.

Authorities said on April 23, 2018, a man, later identified as Tombari, approached a uniformed Federal Protective Service officer outside the Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston and asked if he had a weapon.

Tombari then tried taking the weapon from the officer, and an altercation ensued, according to the USAO. A deputy U.S. Marshal on patrol intervened and eventually the two officers placed Tombari into custody.
