Somerville Man Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Federal Officers
Authorities said the 34-year-old tried to take an officer's weapon outside a Boston courthouse in April.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Somerville man pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to assaulting two federal officers, the U.S. Attorney's office said. Authorities said on April 23, a man, later identified as 34-year-old Jessi Tombari, approached a uniformed Federal Protective Service officer outside the Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston and asked if he had a weapon.
Tombari then tried taking the weapon from the officer, and an altercation ensued, according to the USAO. A deputy U.S. Marshal on patrol intervened and eventually the two officers placed Tombari into custody.
Sentencing has been scheduled for March 7. Tombari faces a sentence of up to eight years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.
