Somerville Police Investigating Afternoon Convenience Store Robbery: Report
The man entered the store and robbed the working employee at knifepoint.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The police department is investigating a reported armed robbery that took place at a store on Tuesday, according to a report from 7 News Boston.
According to Boston Convenience cashier Anju Rani, the assailant entered the business located on Broadway at approximately 1:30 p.m. and brandished a knife at her. He then proceeded to clear the cash out of two registers totaling $900.
The man was captured on surveillance footage entering the store, discreetly walking behind the counter where he threatened Rani with the weapon. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a mustard-colored hooded jacket, and a mask that covered the bottom portion of his face.

The store owners expressed their surprise that the incident occurred in the middle of the day, and relief that their employee was not harmed.
Community members with relevant information are being asked to contact the department as it attempts to identify the thief.
