Somerville Progressives' Home Vandalized 5 Times
A Dartmouth Street couple who hung flags outside their home supporting progressive movements say they've been targeted multiple times.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Dartmouth Street home displaying banners and flags supporting progressive causes has been a frequent target for vandals, the homeowners told the Somerville Journal. Lacey Astra Conners and her husband, Wyatt, hung flags supporting causes ranging from Black Lives Matter to LGBTQ+ rights after the most recent presidential election.
Since then, the home has been vandalized five times, according to the Journal. The most recent damage came in the form of a homophobic slur written twice across a fence on April 12. Other acts of vandalism include the Black Lives Matter banner being ripped down and Christmas lights being cut. People have also shouted insulting things at the couple as they pass by, the Journal reported.
Law enforcement and city officials helped remove the word from the couple's property last week.
