Well-known Coyote Statue Stolen From Somerville Home: Report
The statue had become famous in the neighborhood for being dressed up in different attire by its owners.
SOMERVILLE, MA ā A unique state that has gained popularity from the neighborhood it resides in has been stolen, according to a report from WBZ News Radio 1030.
Joker Tony the coyote went missing from the front of his home on Summer Street on Saturday, Feb. 14. The statueās owners are known to dress Joker Tony in different costumes throughout the year based on the season. The owners believe their decoration was stolen at approximately 12 a.m., with a beer bottle found in the statueās place. A pair of sunglasses and the pride flag Joker Tony was decorated with were found broken in the snow on the other side of the street.
The coyote statue got its name from the robo-calls Somerville conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, based on a mishearing of then-Mayor Joe Curtatone's name.
