14-Unit Apartment Building Proposed For Stoughton Center
Since the space is considered mixed development, the apartments would be above two ground-level storefronts.

STOUGHTON, MA — A massive 38-foot-tall apartment complex may be coming to Stoughton Center if town officials approve the developer's plan.
Town planer Noreen O'Toole presented developer Connelly Management’s plan to the board of selectmen at last week's meeting. If approved, the 14-unit apartment complex would fill a hole left when the Chinese restaurant, Cheng-Du was destroyed in a fire in 2009. It also would replace the former storefront of Malcolm and Parson's Insurance.
Connelly Management's updated plan for the property at the corner of Washington and Fremnt streets includes six one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedrooms, O'Toole told the board. The plan includes room for 16 parking spaces.

Since the space is considered mixed development, the apartments would be above two ground-level storefronts. The building would have three stories. Ten percent of the apartment buildings would be classified as affordable housing, per town bylaw.
"It's replacing a vacant structure that will enhance the vitality of our (downtown) district," O'Toole said.
