Stoughton Board of Selectmen Candidate Drops Out Of Race

Five candidates remain in the race for two selectmen seats.

STOUGHTON, MA — The race for two seats on the Stoughton Board of Selectmen is down to five candidate.

Pam Carr announced Friday that she is ending her bid to join the board and will endorse Michael Sullivan and Richard Hill for selectmen. In a message on her campaign Facebook page, Carr said there are too many candidates and she sees a need to make the field smaller.

"Unfortunately, so much enthusiasm can cause its own problem in the form of vote splitting. Two seats are up and two seats need to be turned over to two new energetic and optimistic community members," Carr wrote. "My full support for this April for Board of Selectmen is for Michael Sullivan and Richard Hill, the two candidates that I believe share my vision for Stoughton as well as the commitment and professionalism it will take to get things done."
