Firefighters Called Back to Site of Monday's Blaze

A fire was reported early Tuesday morning on School Street, the same location where a blaze erupted a day earlier.

At 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Waltham firefighters responded to a reported building fire at 62 School St., the scene of the four-alarm blaze just 22 hours earlier.

The company responded with numerous units, and found smoke showing with a fire on the second floor.

“Due to the conditions yesterday’s fire left the building and no firefighters entered the building,” reported firefighter Matthew Carter. “Engine 3 set up a deck gun on the B side while Engine 2 laid a feeder to Ladder 1 to set up a ladder pipe. Companies knocked down the fire and wet down the hot spots. The temperature was 8 degrees at the time.”
