Wayland Gets Ballot Drop Box As Postal Reliability Falters
This may be the best way to vote in 2020 amid uncertainty that the USPS can deliver this election season.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland has introduced a very secure way to vote remotely this election season. A ballot drop box has been set up outside the police station for the Sept. 1 primary and Nov. 3 general election.
And the box comes just at the right time. Multiple reports indicate the U.S. Postal Service is being handicapped this election season as many states plan to switch to mail-in voting due to the pandemic.
Every Massachusetts voter has the option of voting by mail this season due to coronavirus. The Secretary of State has mailed vote-by-mail applications to most registered voters in the state by now, but you can also download an application on the town website.

Town residents can drop ballots off in the drop-box 24-7 until 8 p.m. on each election day. Voters can also drop ballots off in the box outside the municipal building where you drop off tax payments.
