Congratulations to The Tie-Dye Tiki Team!

 

Congratulations to the girls U12 team of Westborough Town Soccer for a second place showing in the NCUP Tournament on June 17!

The team, coached by Victor Delgado, Cheryl Goebel and David Sommerville, called itself The Tie-Dye Tiki Team. All fifth graders, the girls went undefeated in the fall. The team was the only completely fifth grade team in its division to qualify for the Nashoba League NCUP Tournament in the spring.

Strong passing and ball control skills helped propel the team to a successful season. Strong goal keeping kept the team in the game during tight competitive matches.

The Tie-Dye Tiki Team played three games in the tournament on June 16, where it won 2 and tied 1 — and qualified for the championship game.

The final was played on June 17. The team lost 2 to 1 to Hudson.

Members of the team include Kathleen Heffernan, Rebecca Plunkett, Helen Bugaev, Gabrielle Delgado, Chloe Goebel, Michaela Clancy, Jessica Grossman, Katherine (Katie) Sommerville, Grace Desmond, Bethany Woodcock, Kayla Brosnihan, Holly DeFalco and Amanda Parsons.
