Percy's won the Majors division championship game on Saturday, June 11, at the Westborough Little League Fields at Target.
The end of the Westborough Little League spring season took place on Saturday, June 11, as the Majors division held its championship game. In an exciting six inning game, Percy’s won the division title, defeating Eastern Insurance, 6-5.
The match took place under overcast and drizzly evening skies before over a hundred spectators. Family, friends, coaches and players gathered at the for the 6 p.m. game on the Astra field.
Prior to the start, a ceremonial first pitch was offered by Nick Callender and Isaac Bruce. Both boys are moving out of Westborough with their families, and both have participated for many years in Westborough Little League.

Adding to the excitement of the final game, the electronic scoreboard was activated and emcee Rob Nagi took to the microphone to announce the players and score throughout the game.
Earlier in the day, the league held a graduation pizza party for its 12-year-olds, the age at which WLL participation ends. The gathering, held at , included over a hundred players, family, friends and managers. Each of the departing 12-year-olds was honored with a trophy.

Following the Percy’s win, WLL Commissioner Craig Nichols led a ceremony for the players that included speeches about each championship player by managers Mark McNamara of Percy’s and Todd Chelak of Eastern Insurance. The boys, ages 10 to 12, gathered around home plate for trophy presentations and pictures.
The evening capped with the presentation of the large league trophy to the Percy’s teammates, who carried it onto the pitcher’s mound for photographs.
