Jen Fields Runs Web for Running Club

of Westborough was recently re-elected as the web director of the Greater Framingham Running Club.

Formed in 1979, the Greater Framingham Running Club has grown into a regional sporting club with 200 members. The club designates certain races as part of its Grand Prix Series allowing members to compete for time and point designation awards among themselves generating espirit de corps within the group.

Members organize and staff Framingham’s weekly summer track series for children and adults at Bowditch Field in Framingham, hold a signature event the Busa Bushwhack Trail Race - honoring the club’s senior statesman of New England trail running (Rich Busa). The event is part of the Eastern New England and Western Massachusetts Grand Tree Series of races.

The group holds regular track workouts, monthly fun runs, snow shoeing excursions and social events.

Club members also serve in a volunteer capacity as the official clock watchers for the Boston Marathon and at the finish line for JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Boston.  The organization donates over $3,000 annually to area charities.
