
Westborough's 12-year old boys' soccer team recently competed in the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions held in Lancaster. The tournament is a statewide event featuring twelve boys and twelve girls teams, each a champion of their respective soccer league in the state of Massachusetts.
The boys earned a tournament spot by beating Groton-Dunstable 3-0 in a playoff game to win the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League championship. The boys won their first two games of the tournament by beating Pittsfield and Worcester, before falling to Newton United. Overall, the boys placed 5th in the tournament.

This is the fifth year in a row a U12 boys team from Westborough won the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League Championship and advanced to the Tournament of Champions.
The team was comprised of 4th, 5th and 6th graders and included Chris Amador, Greg Amador, Rian Barrett, Dylan Connors, Jake Hughes, Sam Lis, Matt Morin, Devin Parent, Matt Rotman, Carlton Steinberg, Tyler Stott and Thomas VonDerVellen.
