Reason for running:  “All the lessons you learn in running can be applied to life,” said Doug. “Running teaches you perseverance, teamwork and self-motivation. It’s also a sport you can do any time of the day, any place you go.” Doug has been inspired by other Westborough-area Masters runners whom he trains with, including Tom Offenbacher, Keith Moore, and . A self-proclaimed introvert, Doug says he enjoys training and racing with a team. In addition to his Westborough group, Doug runs with the Greater Boston Track Club and is a member of the Hopkinton Running Club.

Training tip: Doug’s advice is to train with friends. “It’s hard to keep up the intensity if you run alone,” he said. “My team members get me out the door. In my group, it’s hard to miss a run and not get teased about it for weeks,” he quipped.
