Westborough Resident Excels at USA's Largest Triathlon

Cameron Piper finished first among men age 20 to 24 in the International at Sunday's 30th Annual Life Time Tri Chicago.

A Westborough resident finished first among his peers at the USA's largest triathlon.

Cameron Piper was among nearly 10,000 competitors at Sunday's 30th Annual Life Time Tri Chicago, held in downtown Chicago, event officials said in a press release today.

The event includes two options: Sprint distance, which involves a .75-kilometer swim, a 22-kilometer bike and a 5-kilometer run; and International distance, which has a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bike and a 10-kilometer run, officials said.

Piper finished first among men age 20 to 24 in the International.

His time was 2:14:57.

Chicago's Sebastian Gosztyla was second in this group (2:19:45). Westerville, Ill. resident Matthew Stutz was third (2:21:13).
