Police Log: Two Arrested on Warrants, an iPod Scam and Suspicious Vehicles

The following information was supplied by the Westwood Police Department for the week of March 12-18. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, March 15

Randolph Resident Arrested (8:22 p.m.) - Westwood Police arrested a 28-year-old Randolph man on Providence Highway on a warrant issued out of Dedham District Court for a probation violation. Police said they identified a parked, unoccupied vehicle near Dunkin Donuts and proceeded to the , where they made the arrest. 

Unknown Vehicle Spotted (3:06 p.m.) - A Winter Terrace resident reported a suspicious-looking vehicle to police that was parked in a nearby driveway. Police responded and conversed with the resident who reported the vehicle to obtain more information. It was believed that the vehicle may have been attached to a fundraising organization.

Wednesday, March 14

iPod Scam (6:49 p.m.) - A Bay Colony Drive resident reported an Ebay and Paypal scam in which he shipped an iPod to Nigeria and did not receive funds in return.

Quincy Resident Arrested (10:25 a.m.) - Police arrested a Quincy resident and former Westwood resident who they identified while walking eastbound on High Street. The individual, Giovanni Centeio of Quincy, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Dedham District Court stemming from an incident in which he allegedly carried a dangerous weapon on school grounds. 

Monday, March 12

Altercation on East Street (1:11 p.m.) - Police responded to East Street on a report by a passerby that there had been an altercation between two males in the area by . Police identified the individuals and filed a report relative to a disagreement they had.
