WORCESTER, MA — The Laurel Street Bridge is set to reopen on Friday morning, signaling the end of a construction stretch that has affected traffic in the area.

City officials announced that the bridge would be closed from Mar. 26 to Apr. 3 at 7 a.m.due to ongoing MassDOT roadwork to install the new bridge beams for the first phase of the project. Laurel Street will be reopened to one-way (eastbound) traffic on Friday.

With the bridge reopening, drivers can expect traffic flow to return to normal in the area and detours and temporary traffic patterns to be lifted. Worcester drivers should still use caution as any final work wraps up.
